Hellenic Minerals welcomed Deputy Tourism Minister Savvas Perdios and the Commissioner of Rural Development Costas Chambiaouris to their unit in Skouriotissa on July 13, 2022. Mr Perdios and Mr Chambiaouris had the chance to see all the work taking place at the Hellenic Minerals unit, learn about its history, and discuss Hellenic Minerals’ contribution to the development of the Solea area in Troodos.
Hellenic Minerals also presented their innovative practices of hydrometallurgy at the unit and also looked into the possibility of further cooperating and including Skouriotissa’s mine as an important and historical tourist destination in Cyprus.
At their unit in Cyprus, Hellenic Minerals is producing nickel and cobalt sulphates, essential materials in electric vehicle batteries, in an environmentally-friendly method.
